Basetsana Kumalo wishes the late Nelson Mandela a posthumous happy birthday. It is Mandela’s day and many have taken to various social media platforms to celebrate the legend. Baset has a cordial relationship with Nelson before his death and she wrote about it in her memoir. Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, she shared photos establishing the close friendship between them.
“Your spirit lives on in many of us, generations upon generations. It’s been 10 years since your passing Tata, we still miss you, your courageous leadership, your magnanimous presence, the grace of your humility, your forthrightness, spirit of resoluteness, even your hugs.
We are better off as a people, a nation, a continent and indeed the world that you once lived. Happy heavenly birthday. Long live the spirit of Madiba long live,” she wrote.
